PES (Polyether Sulfone)

Poly (oxy-1,4-phenylsulfonyl-1,4-phenyl) or Polyether Sulfone (PESU or PES) belongs to the polysulfone group, a group of high performance thermoplastics.

Properties:

PES is transparent (light honey-color), resistant to hydrolysis, and chemical resistant.  In comparison to PSU, it has both better chemical resistance and impact strength.

Areas of Application:

This material is predominantly used for thermally high-stressed parts (medical equipment, automobiles and airplanes, electronics and electrical components).  It is also used as a substitute for polycarbonates -  due to the health risks of bisphenol a, which is found in polycarbonates - in the production of baby bottles and other products.
