LCP (Liquid Crystal Polymer)

Liquid crystal polymers are high crystalline, thermotropic (melt oriented) thermoplastics, available as unreinforced and reinforced.

Properties:
  • Very high precision and dimensional stability
  • Good behavior under high temperatures
  • High chemical resistance in thin wall applications
  • High stiffness for thin wall profiles
  • Low thermal expansion co-efficient

LCP is often used in the electrical field in applications like fittings, sockets, coils, connectors, switches, sensors, and chip carriers.

Due to its combination of high temperature resistance, precision, and strength, LCP has an advantage over other high temperature plastics. It can also be an efficient alternative to ceramics and thermosets.
